Public accounting firms aren’t the only ones hosting CPE webinars. Software companies have them, too.
While software companies don’t always offer webinars as frequently as public accounting firms, they are often complimentary.
Just don’t be surprised if they start promoting their own services during the webcast (there’s a reason it’s free). The good news is they don’t usually over-do it. Most of the time they aim to provide valuable information for their attendees.
Here are three software companies that offer free live CPE webinars.
1. Learn about Spend Management Topics with Airbase
Airbase is a spend management platform that consolidates card spend, purchase orders, invoices and expense reimbursements.
They usually offer free CPE webinars one or two times a month. Topics cover finance and accounting best practices, from 1099 preparation to monthly close processes. You must attend the live webinar for CPE credit.
It’s worth noting that not all of their webinars are eligible for CPE credit, so you’ll want to check webinar details to confirm CPE eligibility.
Airbase also provides other resources for finance and accounting professionals. Check out their free Slack group called Off the Ledger, where finance and accounting professionals have a space to gather, share ideas, and help each other.
Also worth mentioning is a series called 20-Minute Tales, where finance professionals talk about solving real problems for 20 minutes. These aren’t eligible for CPE credit, but usually contain helpful information, from learning about sales tax rules for SaaS companies to migrating to a more efficient ERP.
2. Tackle Key Workplace Issues with Paychex
Paychex aims to make complex human resources, payroll and benefits functions simple. They also aim to make fulfilling continuing education requirements simple, too.
Their live CPE webinars provide accounting professionals with opportunities to sharpen their skills and learn about dealing with key issues in the workplace. Webinars cover HR, payroll and legal topics relevant to the workplace, including compliance issues, retirement plans and tax credits.
Webinars are offered once or twice a month and must be attended live for CPE credit. While past webinar recordings are available to view, they are not eligible for CPE credit.
If you can’t make it to their live webinars, keep in mind that Paychex also offers free self-study courses that are CPE eligible.
3. Earn HRCI and CPE Hours with ADP
ADP is another human capital management solution that unites human resources, payroll, talent, time, tax and benefits administration.
The company offers several free webinars on a monthly basis. Many of these webinars fulfill continuing education requirements for human resources professionals, as well as CPAs.
HR professionals will be interested in the webinars that qualify for HRCI credit, and CPAs in the webinars that qualify for CPE. Make sure you check webinar details to confirm what kind of credit is being offered, if at all.
Webinars that are CPE eligible cover topics in fraud, bookkeeping services, payroll updates and tax legislation. CPE is only available for attending live sessions, but recordings of the webinars are available to view as well.
Need More Free CPE?
If these webinars offered by software companies aren’t enough, make sure to check out the CPE calendar for even more free live CPE webinars.
