As a member of the Big Four, Deloitte is often considered one of the best accounting firms in the world.
They also offer some of the best free content for continuing professional education, which is good news for CPAs. Accounting professionals who want to maintain their CPA license often need to earn as much as 40 CPE credits every year, so access to a free catalog of content is appreciated.
Here’s everything you need to know about Deloitte Dbriefs.
What are Deloitte Dbriefs?
Deloitte refers to its live webcasts as Dbriefs.
These Dbriefs shine a spotlight on complex issues, new strategies, and insights on important developments that affect various industries. HR executives can learn about fostering culture in a hybrid work environment, and financial executives may be interested in tax developments related to mergers and acquisitions.
Dbriefs are hosted and taught by Deloitte specialists and commonly cover several fields of study, including topics on private companies, financials services, technology and more.
All of Deloitte’s webcasts are free.
How to Earn CPE Credits from Deloitte Dbrief Webcasts
While many firms offer webcasts, not all are CPE eligible. But all of Deloitte’s live webcasts are eligible for CPE credits, so you don’t have to search through their catalog to identify the ones that are CPE eligible.
To receive CPE credits, you must meet the following requirements:
- For 1 CPE credit, view at least 50 minutes of the webcast and answer at least 3 polling questions.
- For 1.5 CPE credits, view at least 75 minutes of the webcast and answer at least 5 polling questions.
- For 2 CPE credits, view at least 105 minutes of the webcast and answer at least 6 polling questions.
There are no prerequisite requirements or advance preparation needed to view the webcasts.
CPE certificates are immediately available for download following the live webcast, but don’t fret if you forget to download a copy. Participants also receive certificates via the email address they use to register for the webcast.
Where to Find Deloitte Dbrief Webcasts
Deloitte usually offers at least one live webcast a week. They have their own Dbrief calendar, where they list their scheduled live webcasts.
If you miss a live webcast, you can access it on demand as Deloitte archives their webinars. All of Deloitte’s live webinars are recorded and archived for 180 days after they originally air.
Keep in mind that these on-demand webcasts are not eligible for CPE credits. CPE hours can only be earned during a live webcast.
As an added bonus, all of Deloitte’s live webcasts can also be found in our very own CPE Planner calendar. In addition to Deloitte’s webinars, you’ll have access to a schedule of free live webinars offered by other accounting firms, law firms, software companies and more.
Let’s Wrap Up
Deloitte Dbriefs are a good resource for educational content on timely, interesting developments that will likely impact your business or industry. Not only are they free, these live webcasts are offered on a consistent basis and cover a wide variety of topics.
Not all accounting firms have the resources to be able to offer free CPE content on a weekly basis, but Deloitte Dbriefs help CPAs make it a priority to obtain their CPE credits.
