12:10 – 1 p.m. CT: M365 Security: Dangers of the Default Configuration, and an update on GLBA
Microsoft 365 continues to dominate a large sector of the market providing a full range of business and productivity services. While M365 default security settings offer users layers of protection, every institution must consider these configurations in relation to their specific needs. We will discuss the underlying default security issues that exist and key configurations every institution needs to know to make their Microsoft 365 environment safer.
The updated GLBA requirements compliance date has been extended. However, this does not mean that there are not requirements that you should be in compliance with today. During this session we will revisit the requirements, note the exceptions, and identify the requirements that are still due based on the original due date of December 9th, 2022.
Learning objectives:
- Recognize Microsoft is not responsible for configuring your M365 environment securely
